History : MSA Classic

2009

The 2009 Aviva MSA Classic took place on Sunday 20th September and offered starting locations at Andover, Bath, Chelmsford, Cheltenham, Chester, Dorking, Norwich, Nottingham and Silverstone, with all routes culminating at Silverstone for the Finish.

New for 2009 was the Silverstone 2 route - a shorter route of around 80 miles. Ideal for cars wishing to travel at a more leisurely pace, this route was aimed particularly at participants who felt their car might benefit from a slightly shorter challenge! We especially welcomed entries from the 1930s & 1940s for this route, as a check point at Compton Verney allowed us to take part in their 'Memories of Compton Verney' event, this year centred on this period.

For the second year running, the Veteran and Edwardian route welcomed cars built before 31st December 1918 to Silverstone for a gentle, shorter route of around 55 miles designed exclusively for them. With laps of the Grand Prix circuit at the start and the finish, and the security of dedicated RAC breakdown assistance along the entire route, Veteran and Edwardian cars were able to enjoy the day - at their own pace!
